Your logo is the face of your online presence. An eye-catching logo that reflects who you are can help 'brand' your online identity, making you more memorable when people first meet you, and more recognizable to those who have met you online before.

The effective use of color is one of the most important aspects of any successful website. Tell me if you have any colors you'd like me to use!

Avatars are like an online business card. Almost every online networking account you have (such as MySpace, WordPress, Blogger, etc. as well as thousands of forums) offers the option of automatically attaching your avatar to every post or comment you make.

A well-designed avatar will encourage others to click on it, follow it to your profile on that forum/blog/etc, and then visit your website!

Don't have a logo to use on it yet? I'll design one for you!

Business Cards can be designed to fit the vertical profile or the traditional horizontal profile, using either your existing logo or a new one.

Would you like to take advantage of the frequent deals that VistaPrint advertises, offering 250 free business cards? No problem! I design business cards to fit their specifications, so all you'll need to do is create an account there and upload the image I'll give you! (I can help you find current sales, too.)

Tell me which style of business card you'd like!

You'll receive 'proof' mockups before your site and/or graphic is fully designed. This way, we can work together to make sure you are pleased with the final result!

Banners can be designed in any of the standard sizes, as well as any custom size you may need. Tell me what you'd like yours to say!

When a website is designed and created, 50%-80% of the work and skill takes place in the designer's mind... the planning, choosing, and knowing how the colors, images, fonts, sizes, placements, etc. will come together into a harmonious whole. Knowing this will help you to understand my pricing structure.

But first, please read these important notes:
1) If you need website hosting, I work with Dena, who owns Creation-Nation.com. I've been with her for six years, and her service is among the best! She'd love to receive an email from you, so send her your hosting questions! Tell her Katie referred you. If you'd like me to be your webmistress, let me know and I'll explain your options.
2) The prices below are for sites similar to those in my portfolio. Please understand that these prices are subject to change. They are here as an example.
3) I welcome your questions, so just ask!

More detailed breakdown:

$90-150

Design Phase, which includes up to three mock-ups of the main site pages if necessary (essentially rough screen shots of the proposed website), and up to 4 hours of design time. In addition, this also includes the discussion time deciding how you want things, within reason. I'll do one mock-up based on the input you give me, show it to you, and we'll discuss changes, before I do the second, etc. I will let you know if you request something that falls outside of this pricing schedule.

$50-100

First Page, excluding a splash page (see below) no matter what that page might be called. The first page is more expensive because it includes the majority of the coding, as well as the final stage of graphics work:

1) building/coding the template for the pages,

2) creating/optimizing the actual graphics that will be used on the site

3) creating the style sheet to control the text size/color/spacing/font, etc.

$25

Each page thereafter as long as it follows the same template as the first page. (Most websites fall into this category.)

Optional Add-ons for Websites

$50-150

Splash Page, which is what it's called when the first page that loads for the visitor is a significantly different design from all the rest of the pages. Because it is different, it must be designed separately, and therefore charged separately. I generally don't recommend these, but I'll do them if it suits your site.

$50-150

Blog or Myspace template to coordinate your blog with your website. (This is often slightly more time-consuming than doing a blog on its own, simply because it's being made to match.)

$25-50

PDF download created of your book, booklet, pamplet, sample chapters, etc.

$15/hour

Proof-reading and editing services. I read quickly and type at over 100wpm, so I can proof and edit a lot in an hour. Just ask if you'd like a rough idea of how long it might take to proof your website text or booklet.

So... let's say that you want what you believe is a simple site, with six pages: About me, Contact me, Services, and three pages describing your three services. All six of these pages will have the same basic layout and menu, but each will have different text, and maybe an image or two embedded in the text. You are not interested in a splash page. You are not interested in a blog. Furthermore, you are the type of person to decide what you want relatively quickly once you understand your options, and you're not going to keep changing your mind every week and waste your design hours. You can estimate your cost like this:

$110

Design Phase - Pick a middle range since you haven't talked with me yet.

$70

Your About me page - Again, pick a middle range since you haven't talked with me yet.

$25

Your Contact me page

$25

Your Services page

$75

Your three pages describing your three services

$305

Your self-estimated total.

I can and will, of course, give you a personalized total if you contact me!
